Hey there!
My name is Caroline and I am currently studying Adventure Education at Messiah College in south central PA. I grew up in a small town in southern New Hampshire and, ironically, had hardly done an adventurous thing in my life before declaring an AdEd major and coming to college. Turns out I was right in guessing that this was something I’d like because I’ve fallen in love with the field and (almost) haven’t looked back since.
Both of my parents became Christians after college and thus my two sisters and I grew up in a Christian home. I remember accepting Jesus into my heart when I was about three and have never known a time when He wasn’t the center of my domestic life. In middle school I became more serious about my faith and decided that I wanted to figure out for myself who Jesus was instead of simply accepting whatever was handed to me by the church or by my parents.
Growing up in New England, my family had a hard time finding a church that they truly agreed with, and thus my entire childhood up until I left home to attend college consisted of church hopping. My parents were always careful to stay away from religious arguments and tried their very best to leave churches on good terms, but because of my vast array of experiences with different church backgrounds and opinions, I have seen a lot of the ugliness that results from disagreements over silly, irrelevant things. Thus, I have no interest in aligning myself with a denomination, but rather simply classify myself as a Christian.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
